1 Frequently asked questions
1.1 Why does nu:ju not completely remove my make-up?

The nu:ju make-up cleansing cloth must be completely saturated with water. However, it must not be too wet - similar to aquaplaning, a layer of water forms between the skin and the cloth and the makeup cannot be absorbed by the cloth. If it is too dry, the foundation and all powdery products can be removed but not mascara or kajal. These are best removed by soaking them (press on the eye area for at least 10 seconds) and dabbing them with light pressure (as with blotting paper).

1.2 I often wear waterproof mascara. What is the best way to remove them with the nu:ju make-up remover?

Waterproof mascara is the endurance test for every makeup remover. A simple and inexpensive tip: use virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil (available in every health food store). Remove a small amount with a spatula and apply it gently to the eye area with your fingers in circular movements. Remove it with the nu:ju make-up cleansing - done. Then rinse the cloth thoroughly with warm water and a small amount of liquid soap.

1.3 I have got small pimples and/or skin irritations after using the nu:ju make-up remover. Should I discontinue use?

Since the cloth not only removes make-up but also has a slightly exfoliating effect, an initial worsening may occur. If your skin condition continues to deteriorate, please check your subsequent skin care products for skin-irritating ingredients first. After using the cleansing cloth, these can penetrate deeper skin layers and cause irritations in the form of pimples, redness and skin irritations. If your skin is very dry and/or low in oil, it is recommended to use the cloth exclusively with a native, cold-pressed vegetable oil. Almond oil or apricot kernel oil are ideally suited for particularly sensitive skin conditions. Massage a few drops of the oil into the dry skin of the face, moisten the cloth thoroughly with warm water and cleanse the face with light pressure and gentle wiping and dabbing (blotting technique).

1.4 After the first use my nu:ju cleansing cloth looks very unsightly. I don't like keeping it in the bathroom open.

Let it dry - this can be done very quickly and stow the cloth in the travel case. Or you can wash it out with a small amount of liquid soap after each use. This is a purely optical problem - due to the silver ionization, there are no problems for hygienic reasons.

1.5 The cleaning performance of my nu:ju make-up remover cloth has decreased after repeated washing. Do I have to dispose of the cloth now?

Unlike other microfibre cloths, the nu:ju make-up remover can be washed with fabric softener. However, please note the quantities indicated on the fabric softener packaging. If you use too much fabric softener, it lays on the fibres and the cleaning performance decreases. Place the cloth in a bowl and add a small amount of vinegar, sodium bicarbonate (baking powder) or detergent and boiling water. Let the cloth soak until the temperature has fallen to a pleasant warmth and wash the cloth thoroughly with clear water.

1.6 For which skin types is the make-up remover or the washing glove suitable?

Although the make-up remover is suitable for almost all skin types, we advise people with atopic dermatitis or very dry, low-fat skin against using it alone due to its slightly degreasing effect. Here the use of a native, cold-pressed vegetable oil is recommended. Almond oil and apricot kernel oil are very mild and low in irritation and therefore ideally suited for sensitive skin conditions. Simply massage the oil gently into the dry facial skin and remove with the well-moistened cloth.

1.7 Is the sports towel also suitable for the sauna?

Conditional. After the 3rd sauna session, the absorption capacity of liquid is exhausted. The large towel can absorb about 1 litre and the small towel 260 ml of liquid. The breaks between sauna sessions are usually too short for it to dry during this time. The towel in saunas can also get over 90 degrees too hot. But as a second towel after cooling/showering, it is ideal.

1.8 How do I actually wash the face cleaning cloth and the sports towel correctly?

Although our microfibre products can be washed at up to 90 degrees in the washing machine (conventional microfibres are already destroyed at 40 degrees), a washing temperature of 40 degrees with a standard washing agent is sufficient from a hygienic point of view. Strong mask residues in the make-up remover - a purely optical problem - may only be removed at 60 degrees. This depends on the performance and quality of the washing machine and the detergent. Stubborn stains can be removed very easily with sodium bicarbonate (baking powder).
