About nu:ju

The story behind the brand

I am Kristin Glatzeder, the business leader in the 2nd generation of P. Glatzeder GmbH, the company behind nu:ju. The company has been founded forty years ago by my parents Ruth and Peter Glatzeder, in Detmold. Over time, P. Glatzeder GmbH has become one of the leading nonwoven manufacturers and wholesalers for technical textiles. At two locations in Germany, we are working with 80 employees at creating nonwovens for international clients from many different industries.

Since puberty, I have suffered from my skin condition: an extremely sensitive combination skin. My skin has a strong reaction to the ingredients of care products, which results in redness, inflammation, pustules, and pimples. If my skin is really bad, I cannot use any care products. Diagnosis: Rosacea.

Necessity is the mother of invention, and I really wanted to develop a cleaning and maintenance routine that is gentle, easy and saves time and costs. And most of all, I was looking for something to take care of my skin, and not make it worse. I was able to find the new material Evolon®. And two years ago, I got the idea to use the towelette for removing make-up. And nothing more than just the towelette. I finally found the perfect solution, and my skin visibly improved. It was more soft and no longer damaged by make-up.

All nu:ju products are developed, manufactured and packed in France and Germany, pursuant all regulations regarding environment and labour conditions.
